I was talking with a friend that I’ve known for about 10 years, he served in youth ministry in the same area that I first started ministry in. I asked him how many personal retreats he went on as a Catholic youth minister and he just laughed. You see for as much talk as we youth minsters do, it is hard for us to convince ourselves to take the time away from our ministries. Hypocritical much? I’d like to say that I’m different, that I’ve taken my personal formation more seriously, but alas I had fallen into the same trap that most youth ministers fall into. Not setting aside time for personal retreats. In 10 years in ministry I had only taken maybe 3 personal retreats… not good. With CCFM, we have made a strong commitment to our own formation; this was made evident when our first activity as a team was to go on retreat together. We set aside 3 days to focus on Christ as a team. This was one of the best retreats I’ve ever been on, not because we did anything extraordinary, but because we took the time to make it happen. And we did it. It is absolutely true that God will not be outdone in generosity. We were generous with our time, and He was exponentially generous with the grace he poured out on us on that retreat. If I could give only one piece of advice, it is to make time for Christ, in your daily life as well as setting aside time at least once a year for a personal retreat. It will be time well spent. toancauxanh.vn/pawn-shop-loan
